There are three ways to start the game. After you customize your character you will need to choose your background lifepath. You can be a Nomad, Street Kid, or Corpo. That actually influences nothing, but it shows different ways of communication. Also, each lifepath has a different beginning, but it’s around 15-30 minutes of gameplay. After that in some dialogues, you will see specific options related to your lifepath. Yes, sometimes they will help you get out of the situation easier, but it doesn’t influence the main storyline or quests.
Attributes, Skills and Perks
There are different ways of solving the problem in Cyberpunk 2077. Sometimes you will see missions and tasks that should be secret and quite, but sometimes you can show your opponents some rock’n’roll. Attributes, skills and perks will help you adjust the character to your playstyle. Decide what you want to be an aggressive killing machining, a technical genius or a stealth ninja.
Hacking is over-powered
In Cyberpunk 2077 almost all your enemies have cyber implants that can be hacked. Also, any location will have devices that can work in your advance if you know how to hack them. If you make everything right you will open a lot of opportunities choosing a netrunner playstyle. You will find the ways how to kill all the enemies having access only to the local net of cameras. So you won’t need even to enter the building to win.
There are a lot of different exciting side quests in Cyberpunk 2077. All of them are not obligatory but some of them can still influence the main plot. In addition, you will get rewards for completing a side quest. There are several types of side quests. Some of them you can see marked on the minimap as yellow (fixer will call you and send the details about the task) and blue ones (they are usually automatic, just neutralize the source of disturbing the piece on the street and get the reward). Other side quests will start as you complete some parts of the main quest. Such side quests can influence the plot if you decide not to complete them.
This tip is useful on stealth missions, sometimes it is worth spending several seconds on saving rather than do the whole mission from the very beginning. Besides, while bugs and crashes still remain in the game you should secure your progress yourself. If you face any problems with crashes and need to fix the game read our previous guide. The link is below.
Quick Scan for loot
First of all, you can see the objects that you can interact with such as cameras, turrets, enemies etc. On the other hand, you will find extra loot or other interesting objects that can engage extra parts of the quests. So press L2/LB/Tab as much as you need and don’t forget about it.
Don’t forget about Cyberware
You will need to check every possible ripperdoc you find next to you. They have different Cyberware and you can find it useful for your build and future progression. Some of them can allow you to jump or even use double jump, which, by the way, easies your stealth tasks as you can get really high like that.
Crafting and upgrading
Well firstly, you can craft bullets for all your weapons. But that’s not all. Also, you can craft other weapons or gear for yourself or simply upgrade the old ones. You will need materials and blueprints for crafting in Cyberpunk 2077. Those can be easily found when you loot everything and everyone. If you don’t want to learn the crafting system at least don’t forget to upgrade your old clothes.
There are three types of weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 that can significantly influence your playstyle.
- Power Guns
Simple bullets but they can ricochet from surfaces. Some types of Cyberware can let you see the path of the bullets and let you kill enemies with the most unpredictable ways.
- Tech Guns
These weapons can pierce through walls, obstacles or armour. Also, they have really high firing speed.
- Smart Guns
These bullets can chase your enemies. Adjust the weapon with the right type of Cyber ware and make your smart weapon reach any enemy in any distance and position.
In addition, there are melee weapons. They are cool and stylish. There are katanas, cubs, knives (can be thrown from a distance if you learn this skill) etc. But melee weapons are more like fist fighting but with better damage. Also, you can get caber implant that upgrades your fist fighting with special attacks.
Don’t forget to use mod slots
Almost any item in Cyberpunk 2077 has empty slots to put modifiers there. The better the item the more slots it has. You can increase your armour or critical strike on your clothes, for example. Or you can insert aim or muffler on your weapon. There are different mods that can be added to different stuff also to implants.
These are the main tips to play Cyberpunk 2077 for beginners.
