At the Xbox Games Showcase, CD PROJECT RED announced that Phantom Liberty, the upcoming open-world spy thriller expansion pack for the action-adventure role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, will be released on September 26, 2023. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showing the key storylines, characters, locations, and new content appearing in the expansion.
In Phantom Liberty, players once again take on the role of a mercenary cyberpunk V, who is on a mission to rescue the president of the new United States of America after her orbital shuttle was shot down over the deadliest area of Nightcity – Dogtown. What follows is a deep dive into a tangled story of espionage and political intrigue that connects the highest echelons of power with the brutal world of black market mercenaries. The stakes are higher than life, but the rewards are worth it because the survival of V!
The full-fledged addition to Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-packed spy-thriller adventure set in a completely new location. Throughout the new story, players will meet and work with new characters, including FIA secret agent Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba. Among the returning actors is Keanu Reeves, who reprises his role as the rebel rocker Johnny Silverhand. The expansion also includes a wealth of new content, including new quests, gigs, and gig types; new vehicles, technologies, cyber programs, and weapons; a brand new Relic skill tree that gives you even more freedom to create your own unique playstyle; and much more.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store) on September 26, 2023. DLC pre-orders are now available on all platforms, including the Cyberpunk 2077 & Phantom Liberty bundle, which includes the DLC and the base game, the latter being required to play Phantom Liberty. Everyone who pre-orders Phantom Liberty will receive a special bonus – early access to the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” after the expansion pack launches. PlayStation users will additionally receive 3 premium avatars for their PlayStation Network profile.
We’d also like to share the good news that Ukrainian subtitles will be added to Cyberpunk 2077. Starting September 26, 2023, it will be available for both the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion pack. It is essential news for the Ukrainian gaming community. And if you are a gaming dev by any chance, please consider adding Ukrainian to the release, moreover, we have great translating agencies that will also do full localization with voiceover. The Ukrainian gaming market is profitable no matter what they write in their CIS reports in Moscow. Besides, in case you didn’t know, Ukraine has never been a full-fledged member of the CIS. Therefore, it is very strange to bypass one of the largest countries in Europe just because Russian propaganda says so.

In addition, I have some not-very pleasant thoughts about the fact that only subtitles will be added, although Ukrainians could fully count on the voice acting. I am also confused by the quality of the translation so in case you think of adding Ukrainian to your games please, don’t work with UNLOCKTEAM or SBT Localization. They use unpaid workers for their translations and have very strange policies of translation that don’t are consistent with the rules of Ukrainian spelling. This leads to discontent in the gaming community and causes reputational damage to the game. In any case, it is up to you to decide.
