Diablo 3 Barbarian Lore
Aggressive warriors with reach background and real barbarian way.
The ancients have blessed me.
For ages, the barbarians dwelling in the shadow of Mount Arreat were shaped to be as strong and unyielding as stone. Immense in size and unmatched in ferocity, they were charged from birth with a duty passed through generations: to protect the sacred mountain.
When their homeland was shattered, many barbarians lost faith. They became aimless, haunted by their past, traveling from place to place without honor or direction.
But not all barbarians have given up their vigil. Some still honor the harsh snows of Arreat’s summit and prowl the outskirts of its crater. They recall being handed axes and spears at an age when city children were clinging to their toys… and they burn with shame at the failure of their people.
These barbarians strive to find a new purpose for themselves in a changed world, and they will crush any who stand in their way. Taken from Blizzard.
Barbarians are masters of melee fighting. They will swing heavy weapons around them like feathers. Moreover, they are powerful enough to lift full-sized heavy weapons in each hand and slam and crush their enemies with all their might.
That leads to brutal attacks. Barbarians spend all their fury in order to break enemies apart or even blow them away.
An exceptional feature that barbarians use is a battle cry. They can empower themselves or weaken their enemies like that. Even the strongest foes fall down before their voice of fury.
The other ability lies in tanking the enemies. Barbarians are great at defense. First of all, thanks to their ability to hold the strongest shields. And second of all, their flesh reflects enemies’ attacks like iron.
Barbarians are able to make use of weapons in ways that others simply don’t possess the strength for. They wield massive weapons – oversized killing devices that more urbane heroes are barely strong enough to lift, let alone swing. Heavily-muscled barbarians can also dual-wield normal weapons like swords and axes, barraging foes with multiple enchantments and weapon types at once.
Barbarians of Arreat wear mighty belts both to aid their already prodigious physical strength, and to display the beastly trophies they’ve collected over the years.
One-handed mighty weapons are a diverse lot of clubs, axes, hammers, swords, and more, with massive size and unexpected balance as their only common traits. They are favored by the nomadic barbarians of Arreat, who possess not only the strength necessary to heft them, but the fury to swing them unceasingly in battle after battle.
Two-handed mighty weapons come in many forms, from clubs the size of tree trunks to greatswords and axes seemingly made to be wielded only by statues. When these enormous weapons are swung by human hands, stories are made.
