Elden Ring is a the top of its popularity. Everyone heard about the new Souls Game by FromSoftware Inc., BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment. We have written some posts about it so far, but now we decided to share with you the thoughts of players who enjoy playing the game and those who think otherwise. Below you can see Elden Ring common players’ reviews.

The overall review mark for Elden Ring is Very Positive. The total amount of players who left their comments is 481,379 reviews.

Positive reviews for Elden Ring

We took reviews from the players who played for over 20 hours. And who were mentioned as helpful by the most number of other players. The total amount of positive reviews for Elden Ring is 431,379 reviews.

We need to add that we skipped reviews that don’t have any explanations. Many players find useful jokes or informative exclamations. We ignored such comments and focused on explained points of view.

“I started the journey as a lowly tarnished, with only the guidance of grace to guide me on a perilous path of struggle, hardship and suffering. I stumbled, I failed and I died. I came back up again, learning from my mistakes.
On the journey, I faced many great enemies. Some I admired and respected while some I loathed and hated, yet thankful for them all.
I made friends, learned from teachers, faced-off adversaries, fell in love, cried in loss, and shared on the happiness of each and every character of the game. For those who may call me their consort, their lambkin, their tarnished, or even their lord; I express my thanks.

This game was my second entry to FromSoftware, ( the first being Sekiro), and I am at a loss of words to express the emotional rollercoaster I went through during my playthroughs. I now understand why their games are so well-celebrated and have such a vast community.
It doesn’t matter if I am a lowly tanished, I shall never put my foolish ambitions to rest.” by B1ooD$@g3, 133 people found this review helpful.

“It’s amazing. It’s everything you’ve heard. It’s open-world Dark Souls. Please play this game.
However…. I’m quitting before the end. Here’s why, as briefly as I can put it:
It’s too hard. Not like, oh it’s challenging git gud. It’s too hard as in, the bosses towards end game (even some of the regular enemies) rely on exceedingly long combos WITH AoE’s that will kill you in 1-2 shots. Many feel cheap, rather than challenging. Not QUITE a Bed of Chaos cheap, but pretty close. I’m feeling like when I die, I didn’t cheat the system or find the right cheese rather than build any skill for the next fight. I’m discouraged, I hate the gauntlet of having to dodge 12 times flawlessly and hit once, then repeat… or just summon a bunch of people and cheese the bosses. It’s not fun anymore. I quit.”

“This game saved my life.
I’m a 36-year-old man that works a dead-end job. every day when I come home from work I turn on my computer console and just stare at the screen for hours. My whole life I’ve been a lone wolf, I cut ties with all my friends because i have that sigma male mindset. But recently I’ve been wanting to have friends again but all of my old friends don’t want anything to do with me. That’s the reason why I bought this game. I actually consider all the NPC’s like blaid and patches as friends. I’ve built up a relationship with them that is stronger than my very own family. Everyday at work I get really excited thinking about this game and spending time with them. These NPCs give me a reason to wake up everyday now and it’s made me realize that I don’t need to be a lone wolf anymore.”
Well, that was something. Anyway, the review is by SagaGG, 59 people found this review helpful.

Negative reviews for Elden Ring

“Good game but they need to fix their pc ports, stuttering, fps losses, freezes, disconnects.
14th of may, performance still sucks, would expect a game like this that sold so many copies to receive good support but nope.”

“The game is great, but I give it a negative cause it runs like crap on PC.
If it ever get’s fixed, I’ll come back and change the review.

Update: doubling down on this as I am now having to reinstall the game because it no longer starts properly.” by Duke Silver, 50 people found this review helpful.

“I cannot recommend this game over other titles in the Fromsoftware lineup. The pros are the environments and level design are great and there are a lot of flashy weapon art moves and magic abilities. Voice acting is good too.
The cons are…just about everything else. A lot of my frustration with the game comes from many enemies and bosses attacking too fast and hitting too hard to get reliable punishing hits in. Boss fights feel like they were designed around you using spirit summons except these summons make the game extremely easy. I breezed through most of the game using summons once I gave up trying to solo fight anything.” by RoyalDZ, 32 people found this review helpful.

“Despite the excellent PvE component, PvP in this game is a terrible joke with a ton of cheaters, exploits, offline farming and disconnects.” by MCmamont, 29 people found this review helpful.

In general, we can come up with the conclusion that when a game is extremely popular many players are confused when they need to rate the game. Especially we can see it on positive reviews. Negative comments have more information. We see that there are some problems with performance and issues that influence PvP mode. But still, when players try an overhyped game they always exaggerate their hopes and get disappointed in the end *cough*Cyberpunk*cough*. As for the Elden Ring it is a very strong game that is worth playing if you like Souls-like games. Because even though it is not called Dark Souls 4 it is still the game of those series. It has its minuses like any other game, but still, you might find it interesting.
