He can perfectly initiate teamfights or peeling enemies from squishy teammates. He also has some decent damage, which allows him to clear lanes and harass opponents. His healing skill, Healing Potion, has a unique mechanic that allows you to restore a huge amount of health with proper preparation.

Useful Strategies and Tips
The fortitude of the Faithful. This useful trait allows you to have an extra Armor and a faster cooldown of Basic Abilities almost always. However, without teammates nearby, it will be difficult to survive when facing enemy Assassins, especially if the Scroll Of Sealing is on cooldown.
Healing Potion has a short cooldown and low mana cost to heal a huge amount of damage. Healing Potion cannot be picked up or destroyed by enemies, which allows them to be safely thrown in the teamfight zone in advance so that teammates can pick them up later. Practice will help you to accurately throw them at allies, which will instantly heal them. This is very useful when your team is catching up with enemies, in order to predict exactly where your target will go.
Horadric Cube is one of the CC skills that deals low damage and also slows down opponents, making it easier to catch them in Scroll Of Sealing. Also, the talent Kanai’s Cube will additionally reduce the damage of opponents, and help weaken enemy Assassins.
Scroll of Sealing has a long cast and cooldown, but 1.5 seconds of Roots makes enemies very vulnerable targets. This skill is great for CC chains, initiation, and also as an area blocking tool.
Stay Awhile and Listen. This skill will serve as an excellent initiation of a teamfight, allowing your team to choose the most convenient position and time for casting skills. In addition, you can interrupt dangerous skills of enemies, as well as save teammates from backline attacks.
Lorenado – this skill is great for controlling enemies in narrow corridors, but it is significantly inferior in practicality to the second Heroic spell, due to its vector targeting system.
Synergies and Counters
Deckard synergizes with Heroes for chaining CC abilities (such as Arthas or Kel’Thuzad) and Heroes, whom can use delay from his Stay Awhile and Listen to cast their Heroic abilities (such as Jaina or E.T.C.).
Deckard is countered by Heroes with good CC abilities (such as Diablo or Alarak) and high mobility Heroes, who can can easily dodge his CC spells (such as Tracer or Samuro).
