With the right bases, you can make items that are exceptionally rare and can take your build to the next level. What is a Legendary

A legendary in Last Epoch is a unique item that has one or more additional affixes added to it. These affixes can range from tier 1 to tier 7, adding a significant amount of power to an already powerful unique item. Almost any kind of unique item can potentially become a legendary with the right components. However, not every unique item that drops on the ground is able to be crafted into one.

To determine if a unique item can be crafted into a legendary, it must have legendary potential. The number of affixes that can be added to a legendary depends on the legendary potential of the unique item. Unique items with higher legendary potential can have more affixes added to them, making them even more powerful.

Legendary Components

There are two ways to make a legendary item in Last Epoch: using a unique item with legendary potential and exalted item of the same type as the unique item or using a unique item with Weaver’s Will.

A unique item with legendary potential is combined with an exalted item that has two prefixes and two suffixes. The exalted item must be of the same type as the unique item. For example, if your unique item with legendary potential is a shield, you will need an exalted shield.

It’s important to note that not all unique items have legendary potential. The likelihood of finding a unique item with legendary potential is determined by its legendary potential level, with higher levels being less likely to have legendary potential. Zones with higher area levels are also more likely to drop unique items with legendary potential.

Weaver’s Will

These Unique items expand the roster of item rarities, entering the fray with Unique and Legendary items, by being both! Similar to Unique Items, all Weaver’s Will items will have a fixed list of effects which will be unique to that specific named item. Where they differ from normal Uniques, is that these items do not roll Legendary Potential, but instead roll a Weaver’s Will value. These items will always drop with Weaver’s Will, and have a roll range of 5 to 28.

Instead of crafting on these items, these items will level alongside you as you play. As you kill enemies in Eterra with one or more of these items equipped, the Weaver will rebuild the item, consuming a point of will to add an affix to the item. The item can rebuild a total of four different affixes, at which point it starts upgrading the tiers of the existing rebuilt affixes (it could also increase the tier of an affix before acquiring all four affixes). These items can even be rebuilt all the way into exalted tiers of affixes including up to T7.

Crafting Process

To craft a legendary item in Last Epoch, you need to complete the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. This requires a Temporal Sanctum Key, which can be obtained by random drops in the world or from timeline bosses in the Monolith of Fate.

Once you have a Temporal Sanctum Key, you can enter the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. After defeating Julra, you will encounter the Eternity Cache in the next room. Interact with the cache and put your unique item with legendary potential and the exalted item with four affixes into it. Press ‘Seal Cache’ and switch eras using Temporal Shift. Open the cache again to find your crafted legendary item inside.

It’s important to note that the crafting process can only be completed once per dungeon run. If you want to craft another legendary item, you will need to obtain another Temporal Sanctum Key and run the dungeon again.

Component Farming

While crafting a legendary item is relatively straightforward, acquiring the unique and exalted items you need can be challenging. Here are some tips and strategies to help you in your search for these items:

For Uniques:

• The likelihood of finding a unique item with legendary potential is determined by two factors: the legendary potential level of the unique item and the area level of the zone.
• Zones with higher area levels are more likely to drop unique items with legendary potential.
• Corruption and item rarity do not directly affect legendary potential but increase the overall number of unique items that drop, increasing your chances of finding ones with legendary potential.
• Boss-specific unique items can be farmed easily by repeatedly farming the boss and increasing corruption and item rarity.
• For world drops, you can farm specific timelines that have echo rewards for the type of unique item you are looking for or use a Rune of Ascendance.

For Exalteds:

• To obtain tier 7 exalted items, you need to be in an area with at least level 90.
• Echo reward nodes in timelines are efficient for general hunting of exalted items, especially with higher corruption.
• The Lightless Arbor dungeon is a great way to obtain multiple exalted items at once, provided you have enough gold to juice the vault.
• The Soulfire Bastion dungeon allows you to target belts, boots, and gloves, which don’t have timeline reward echoes.
• If you have an exceptional exalted item that you want to use as a legendary but don’t want to lose the original item or want more than one chance at getting the right affixes on your legendary, you can use a Rune of Creation to make a duplicate of the item.
