Planet Zoo Developers Take Immersive Wetlands Research to New Depths

The Planet Zoo team have been hard at work with their research for the recently announced Wetlands Animal Pack, with developers taking to the water for their latest meeting. Leaving no lilypad unturned, the team opted to swap office chairs for pool noodles in their bid to make the animals of Planet Zoo: Wetlands Animal Pack the most authentic yet.

To ensure the otterly fascinating new species coming to the game make a real splash, the team have gone beyond the shallows to put themselves into the webbed shoes of the platypus. Some eyebrows were raised when department heads floated the idea that developers relax in warm waters like the mellow capybara, but so far, no team members have reported feeling ‘wavy’.

Although the aroma of chlorine did not quite recreate the rivers and floodplains of a true wetlands ecosystem, developers had a whale of a time researching the unique relationship each of the new species has with their marshy surroundings. A few brave developers really took the plunge, submerging themselves for hours in a somewhat method interpretation of the Spectacled Caiman’s daily schedule.

While it may prove somewhat impractical to hold Planet Zoo’s daily stand-up meetings fully submerged, the team are in agreement that this innovative approach to research could prove revolutionary for the games industry, if a little soggy.
