When you are in Well of Fate open the songbook and see the improvements that are available. Some appear on your hotbar themselves but you can change them from the songbook menu.
Improvements are especially important for gathering resources. When you use gathering improvements the important ones like redstone or diamonds will appear in chests in your village or at allay around the world. Also, you can remove unnecessary improvements and get all spent resources back.
Lastly, if you’re wondering what “each additional improvement” means, that’s basically a term for upgrading the improvement in question. In order to do so, you need to place another one of the same type, or as many as you want, to get the additional benefit on top of the base one.

This pairs perfectly with banner improvement as this improvement increases how many mobs you can summon at a time. Each additional improvement that you build is going to increase it by four mobs at a time.

This improvement is a crucial one. It lets you use golems that you can find around the map. They are one of the most powerful units in Minecraft Legends. To summons these golems you need to spend a decent amount of gold. Once you do they will occupy one slot of your banner units, and if they die, you can rally them back from the closest village, or the Well of Fate.
