Against The Moon Review

A lot of interesting and unique card games have already been released. However, the developers at Code Heretic can still surprise you. Their new game, Against The Moon, is a turn-based strategy with a focus on deckbuilding and unit levelling. In addition, the player will have a fascinating sci-fi adventure against dangerous beasts called Furos, which have turned the planet into ruins.

Try to survive

The playing field is represented by three lines, half for each side. With the help of the brave heroes (the Ultori), the player will have to protect Arx Sarcophagus from damage and, along the way, destroy the enemy leader Furos.

To achieve the desired goal you have at your disposal a huge arsenal of units, weapons and skills. Win and gain access to valuable resources that will allow you not only to open new cards but also to improve the old ones. Each card can be improved by giving the player a choice of one of two paths for evolving. Heroes also have their own unique abilities and passive skills that can save the player in desperate situations and turn the tide of battle. Use them wisely, because the right tactics and unique abilities of your army will be able to give a worthy rebuff to the ruthless army of Furos!

The battles are very dynamic and exciting. Each new boss will meet you with his own unique set of units. So get ready to adapt to his style very quickly, otherwise, the field will quickly fill with hostile Furos and your Arx will be defeated. Each new playthrough of the game will differ from the previous one thanks to the random generation of missions, so it will be difficult to assemble an unbeatable deck.

The game looks very interesting, with its own unique mechanics and inimitable art style. We look forward to when it becomes available on Steam.

Summary:
Our reviews are based on five criteria that allow us to give the most accurate assessment of the game. Gameplay displays the main features of the game, mechanics and overall player’s game interaction. Narrative reveals the main storyline, well-written dialogue and the impact of the player’s actions on the world around them, as well as the atmosphere. Graphics shows how well a game looks visually, regardless of type and perspectives. Sound is how well the dialogue and sounds of the game are sounded, as well as how the music and soundtracks accompany the game. Last but not least, Controls are how comfortable they are and allow the player to expect full control over their character.
