I’m already going through the third scenario for newcomers to the Sims 4. The previous ones were about the scenarios “Power Couple” and “Living in their Shadow“. This time it’s another easy introductory scenario called “New in Town”.

New in Town is also one of the proposed scenarios for beginners, which introduces the player to the Sims 4 gameplay in an interesting way. You will be offered to play as a pre-made character, Farrah Nouvel, and complete the scenario which has as many as five endings.
Farrah is a young girl who makes contact with everyone very easily. She wants to meet all her neighbours and throw a great party. But it’s up to you to decide what kind of party it will be and how it will continue.
The story has five possible endings:
It doesn’t detail how exactly you need to finish the game to get a particular ending. So let’s start with the first ending called Love at First Sight. I really love it when all the Sims are happy and in love, start families and have children. I am such a strange goddess in the world of The Sims 4.
Farrah’s story begins in the city of your choice. I settled in Oasis Springs. You can’t choose which family to play as in the scenario, so it will always be Farrah. She works as a freelancer, so her job doesn’t interfere with her ability to complete the scenario quickly and efficiently.
The first task in the upper left corner asks us to essentially prepare for the upcoming party. And that’s what we’re going to do.
The advice here is also general and not so much about the party itself, but about improving your relationship with other Sims. First of all, always be friendly, and don’t try to make friends in a bad mood, because your Sim will definitely say something wrong and you will make a negative impression. The best mood for meeting new people and forming new friendships is happiness and confidence.
Secondly, use the dialog lines that the game offers from your mood, for example, to make a nice compliment. Also, use the lines in dialogs that open from charisma skills. If your interlocutor is also in a good mood and doesn’t hold a grudge against you, these dialog lines will always improve the relationship.
Find out more about the opponent. And then joke with them if they like jokes, or use this knowledge to build a connection in some other way. Also, give gifts, no matter how small and pleasant, like food packages. And spend time together, go fishing or jogging together.
There are also character traits in the store that can be purchased to help you make friends with new Sims faster. These are “Observant” and “Incredibly Friendly”. However, at the very beginning of the game, when you don’t have any points from satisfying the needs of your Sims, you won’t be able to buy them. To gain these points, fulfill your Sims’ wishes and advance their active life dreams.
You are in charge here. I want Farrah to fall in love with Jonny Zest at first sight, and he to fall in love with her. That’s why all my efforts were aimed at that. In contrast to my plan to make Nova and Lewis fall in love with each other in the previous scenario, things are going much better for Farrah and Johnny. A quick tip: if the system offers you to activate preferences (for example, that you like funny sims), read it carefully and consider how it will affect the relationship with the sims you choose. That’s how I got the urge to like cheerful sims, and I went with it, because Johnny is just like that.
From there, your task will be to get to know the neighbourhood and improve your romantic relationship with Johnny. Or something else, depending on how you want the scenario to end.
Personally, I did my best to make sure that Johnny felt the same way about Farrah as she did about him, but at the same time, she didn’t forget to make other friends in the town. The game gave me the opportunity to choose where and how I played. So Farrah went to the gym and met other active sims like herself. And then she went on a date with Johnny. Things went so well that Johnny immediately asked Farrah to live together. She gladly accepted, and they moved into a new house together.
There, they organized a party together. The final result of the scenario “New in Town” depends on how this party ends.
The scenario is very easy and quick to complete. If you don’t know if you’ll enjoy playing The Sims 4, but you want to give the game a chance, then the “New in Town” scenario is the best one to get acquainted with the game, in my opinion. It’s fast, doesn’t require a lot of immersion, and teaches you the basics of the game.
I completed the scenario with the desired ending – Love at First Sight – and received two character traits, one as a reward and the other as a bonus for this particular ending. The first one is the one that rewards you with the ability to make friends with Sims faster if you spend time away from home. And the second is the ability to kiss great and leave impressions of your kisses on your partner.
