Interesting pre-patch events in World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is a game that is famous for its detailed plot, a large abundance of characters, beautiful locations, and rather difficult tasks.

Beginners have a particularly difficult time in the game because during its twenty-year existence, the game mechanics have changed more than once, and new characters and new storylines have been added. It is very easy to keep track of everything, and it is also quite difficult to immediately start playing professionally. Many new players seek the help of boosting https://skycoach.gg/wow-boost with leveling, completing dungeons and raids, obtaining rare in-game items, or buying gold. This service is legal and helps save effort and time.

If you are new to the game and don’t know much about it, let’s take a look at some of the unique pre-patch events in World of Warcraft. Although, in fact, this information will also be useful for those players who have been familiar with the World of Warcraft for many years.

The Burning Crusade – Opening the Dark Portal

Not the most intense gaming event, but this did not prevent it from becoming one of the most memorable – after all, this was the release of the first add-on, and the first entry into the Dark Portal was unforgettable. If we take the events themselves, then the players essentially had exactly one quest, for which they were given a tabard. Doom world boss Lord Kazzak (it was he who opened the portal to Outland) was replaced by a new world boss, Highlord Kruul, who could appear in several locations: The Hinterlands, Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, Azshara, Silithus, Burning Scar, Stranglethorn Vale.

That’s all. But then again, the release of a new add-on and the opportunity to go to the homeworld of the orcs, familiar from Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal, was much more important then.

Wrath of the Lich King – Zombie Invasion

This expansion is considered to be the best in the whole WoW universe, it even has 8,8/10 on IMDb. The zombie invasion in it was already a full world event, with new content gradually unlocked every few days. Although it was very similar to the events of patch 1.11 “Shadow of the Necropolis”, this time it was Arthas himself who attacked. The appearance of plague-infected boxes of wheat, the gradual spread of this very plague, and the possibility of catching it by players, returned to the events of Warcraft 3. Well, the culmination of the entire game event is the attacks of the Scourge army on the capitals of the Horde and the Alliance. Other things to mention are the introduction of flying necropolises across Azeroth, a special boss in Karazhan, and the balance changes that came with the patch.

Cataclysm – Shattered

Cataclysm formally had the longest pre-patch, which consisted of several parts. First, the elemental invasion of cities. Orgrimar and Stormwind were on fire, and a quest chain related to Twilight’s Hammer cult became available to players. And secondly, the split of Azeroth itself changed the face of the world familiar to many forever. After that, the events of Cataclysm began.

To be honest, we don’t remember this event. The changed world aroused interest, but the quest chain itself was not that very interesting and somehow didn’t remain in the memories of players.

Mists of Pandaria – Theramore’s Fall

This, in general, was not a pre-patch in the classical sense, but rather a script. In this scenario, the Horde attacked the city of Jaina Proudmoore on Garrosh’s orders, and then a magic bomb was dropped on the city. Theramore was eventually destroyed.

This event perfectly set the tone for the future addition – the war between the Horde and the Alliance. That’s just because the conflict itself was fully revealed only with the reading of books on the WoW universe.

Warlords of Draenor – Iron Horde Invasion

Also the opening of the Dark Portal, only not demons climbed out of it, but orcs clad in iron. A quest chain was waiting for players in the reworked Blasted Lands, and the legendary UBRS dungeon was reworked.

This event has one problem: the players were not particularly explained where the alternative Draenor (orc homeworld) came from, what the Iron Horde was, and how Garrosh was connected to it. Yes, Blizzard has released a series of commercials that have already become traditional, revealing the main characters of the add-on. But that’s all. To understand the essence of what is happening, one had to read books and comics.

Legion – Demon Invasions and Broken Isles

But this in-game event has already turned out to be more interesting! The Burning Legion began their invasion of Azeroth, demons began to appear in several locations: Azshara, Dun Morogh, Westfall, Hillsbrad Foothills, Tanaris, and Northern Barrens. The Broken Isles questline is now available, and those who pre-order now have access to the Demon Hunter questline as well.

Harbingers of doom began to appear in the capitals – NPCs with signs predicting the end of the world. But the most interesting thing was different: random players, being in the capitals, began to hear whispers. This whisper imposed a debuff and the players turned into Dreadlords and could wreak havoc in cities.

Battle for Azeroth – War of Thorns

Quest chain in Darkshore, culminating in the burning of Teldrassil (the capital of the night elves). There was nothing special there, but you could get special mounts: a hippogriff for the Alliance and a bat for the Horde. When receiving a reward for one faction, a reward for another faction was immediately added to the collection.

Here we tried to tell you about the most interesting World of Warcraft pre-patches. We hope that you will choose something for yourself and spend an unforgettable time with this amazing game.
