Legends of Runeterra Expeditions

Expedition is a special mode in Legends of Runeterra. The main difference from the regular mode is that it is non-constructed – meaning that the player will not be able to use his deck and the cards that he received or crafted. Instead, at the beginning of each Expedition trial, the player creates a new deck of cards that are given to him to choose from. Depending on the victories won, the player receives rewards, which makes Expeditions a great place to farm resources and improve skills in the game.

Building your deck

Each Expedition consists of two Trials, and at the beginning of each, the player builds a deck from scratch. The first two Picks are champions, then there is a sequence of Synergy and Wild Picks, and at the very end is the Trade Pick, which makes it possible to change one existing card in the deck for a new one. Synergy Picks offer cards based on what the player has already chosen, complementing the deck with cards that go well together. Wild Picks, on the other hand, is made up of random sets of cards that can be useful for the deck. There are 15 Picks in total, and the player will have a total of 30 cards in the deck.

But the deck building doesn’t end there. By winning, you will get the opportunity to improve or customize your deck. After each victory, you will have a choice of champions to add to your deck or which cards to replace.

Trials

As mentioned above, each Expedition consists of two Trials. And you will receive an award for the most successful run, so if the first time you did not succeed in achieving the cherished seven victories, do not rush to get upset – the second time may be more successful than the first one. The rules are pretty simple – if you lose 2 times in a row the Trial ends. The total number of defeats does not affect the success of the Trial.

The main thing is the number of victories because opponents are selected according to how many victories you won so that both have equal chances (after all, for each victory you improve your deck). But this does not apply to the last round. After six victories comes the final, the seventh – SUDDEN DEATH. Win and get the ultimate reward, lose and the Trial is over. And the most successful Trial, depending on the victories, will bring its own rewards.

Expedition costs

To take part in Expedition, the player must pay with one of the listed options:

  • x1 Expedition Token
  • x2000 Shards
  • x200 Coins

Keep in mind, however, that only the first 3 Expeditions in the week require fees and rewards from the list above. After that, Open Play becomes available – you can play for free but there are no rewards. This is great for those looking to practice ahead of next week to gain experience and maximize rewards. If you decide to terminate the current Expedition, it will close and you will receive rewards for your best run (if available).

We wish you all the luck in the future Legends of Runeterra Expedition runs.
