Together with tycoon and streamlined rpg Swag and Sorcery has an interesting mixture of idle-rpg and simulation. You personally, won’t have to fight against monster as you have monsters to fight for you. Those monsters will go resource hunting for your town.
You meanwhile will solve other important tasks. For instance, you will build new buildings and upgrade old ones to improve your adventurers’ crew. Gathered resources you will spend on craft of new equipment for your heroes. Moreover, the adventurers will craft it themselves.
It is worth to tell some more details about crafting and hero’s characteristics. Each of your characters has main characteristics, such as Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. They influence not only the damage of a specific weapon but also crafting success.
For example, heroes with high Agility unlikely to craft good magic armor. In that case, don’t forget to check the compatibility of your hero’s characteristics and the equipment you want to craft. Because, if you combine them right you can get armor of rare or legendary quality instead of normal. Moreover, that may cause not only its stats but also unique parameters such as Vampirism or Regeneration.
The title of the game has ‘Sorcery’ in it. So what about magic? There is a special building in the game called – Library. It will open a tree of researches, they in their turn will give you access to magical spells. So with a help of them your crew will overcome stronger monsters and bosses.
As far as you settle in the town and equip your heroes you will open one more feature – Fashion Competition. You can send around 3 heroes on this tournament, which will compete other participants to get Swag points for the town.
As for the graphics, it is old-school 16-bit graphics. But we should pay tribute as it perfectly fit Swag and Sorcery. Moreover, heroes and monsters animation is on the highest level. The town looks great as well each building is unique and very detailed.
Sound on other hand has nothing special, but after some time it gets little repetitive.
To play Swag and Sorcery you will need only your mouse. The is related to the point and click type. Although, there are some things to be improved in the controls. For instance, it is rather incontinent to move heroes from stable to crafting locations all the time.
The game is rather linear and the storyline is not on the leading position here. Your task is to help the King find his great-great-grandfather’s magical suit. But that not as easy as it sounds as royal advisor will plot and try to usurp the throne. So you will need to eliminate the consequences of his atrocities.
