Is it a modern fantasy game? No. Is it a cosmic horror game? No. The Way Home is a casual driving game without the fantasy elements. But here are them in the game, definitely. The guys looking down smartphone while walking, the careless running guys, the bicycles on the road, and the lightning scooters.
Hitting somebody while driving in real life, we’ll have some legal process. Calling the insurance companies, or calling the lawyer, and so on. Then, we make a conclusion about whose fault it is. But in the world of The Way Home, the law unconditionally sentences every driver to death, even if it’s not the driver’s fault. Therefore the drivers must be careful to not hit people.
It’s a definite bad ending, but I couldn’t stop laughing whenever I hit the guys. Because they had fallen down ridiculous. It also looks like slapstick humour.
Sometimes you’ll get a coin on the road. I think it’s a parody of cryptocurrency. If you earned a lot of money after selling the coin, you can have a supercar and a penthouse. It’ll lead you to another stage, and bring you another exciting experience.
