Windtrace in Genshin Impact Starts Tomorrow

The next event in Genshin Impact is going to be a Windtrace. It will be added to the game tomorrow and thus we decided to share with you some details about the upcoming Windtrace event in Genshin Impact.

Windtrace is a team vs team game. You will be divided into two sides – Rebels and a Hunter. Rebels need to hide and the hunter needs to find and catch all the rebels. Simple child game, but with some editions that we write about further.

Windtrace System

Before we write about Windtrace gameplay we’d like to tell some important details about game creation and rewards.

• Playble in multiplayer ONLY
• Custom Co-op from 4 players (3 Rebels and 1 Hunter)
• Can create and play in custom Co-op (Windtrace Challanges are active, but Windtrace Coins are disabled!)
• Play random Co-op parties to get Windtrace Coins
• Exchange your Windtrace Coins for rewards

NOTE: You DON’T get Windtrace coins needed for the rewards in custom co-op!

In addition, before the match starts you can change your character and choose a specific skill that can be used during the match.

NOTE: Mona’s and Ayaka’s sprint will not work as usual in this event.

The skills are called Windtrace Arts. They will replace all your abilities during the match. The arts types are different depending on your team.

To will the match you need to complete your task during the time limit. Rebels must not be found while the Hunter must catch every Rebel.

Windtrace rewards

You can see them above. You will be able to get Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wit and Enhancement Ore. They will be divided into two groups – Windtrace Challenges and Windtrace Coins. You can see the example below.

On the first day of the event, you will be able to obtain 1200 Windtrace Coins (maximum). This number will increase during the six days while the event is active. The highest maximum will be 6000 Windtrace Coins.

As you can see better rewards will be given for Windtrace Coins, while challenges will give you additional Mora.

What do Rebels do in Windtrace?

Now let’s make it more clear for each role in Windtrace Genshin Impact event. You will get your role randomly and will need to act respectively.

Rebels need to move around a lot but not be seen or caught by the Hunter. The longer you remain unnoticed the more Windtrace Coins you get after the match. If at least one Rebel remains on the field after the time ends Rebels win.

During the preparation phase, you will need to find good hiding spots, check and pick good Wintrace Arts (skills) and disguise.

Rebels Arts types:

• Elemental attack will become a disguise (click to disguise and hold to uncover)
• Normal attack will become bait or transparency mode (temporary)
• Elemental Burst will be replaced by Strastep (it increases your speed greatly for 30 seconds), can be used only after you pick up a Favour.

You will be able to choose one type for each Art during the preparation phase.

What does Hunter do in Windtrace?

Now let’s talk about Hunter’s role in the Windtrace Genshin Impact event. You will get your role randomly and will need to act respectively.

The Hunter needs to find ALL the Rebels in time. Because if you won’t be able to catch even one Rebel you lose. The faster you catch all the rebels the more Windtrace Coins you get after the match.

During the preparation phase, you will not be able to see other players or their paths. Spend this time to find potential finding spots and pick the right Windtrace Arts to win. Also, note that when the match starts the required stamina for sprinting, climbing and gliding will be greatly reduced.

Hunter Arts types:

• Elemental attack will become a capture (use to dispel rebel’s disguise and capture them)
• Normal attack will become sensor aura (you will be notified if the area contain a rebel and if he make any move during the next 5 seconds you will see it) or mysteriouse hunch mode (shows a short way that leads to rebels)
• Elemental Burst will be replaced by any of the following three: Imprisoning Curse, Insight or Hunter’s Intuition. All of them can be used only after you pick up a Favour.

Windtrace Maps

This time you will see some new maps chosen for the Windtrace event in Genshin Impact.

These zones are places from all over the Teyvat. Note that to play in Inazuma the game requires you to complete “Ritou escape plan” quest first.
