Diablo 2 Uber Diablo (Diablo Clone) Guide

The main story in Diablo 2 is not all that game has to offer. There are also additional events that are much more difficult than original content. One of those is defeating Uber Diablo also referred to as Diablo Clone. It is a more powerful Diablo that drops the Annihilus charm. Here you will learn how to access Uber Diablo.

Note that all information here fits both Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 Resurrected, there is only one difference between these two versions of the game. In Diablo 2 Uber Diablo can be done only on the Battle.net realms and is not functional in Single Player or LAN games. But in Diablo 2 Resurrected you can kill Uber Diablo in Single Player as well.

To have a chance of encountering Uber Diablo you will need to play on the Hell level of the game. In general, any player can meet him, but if all the requirements are met. Uber Diablo is not like any other boss that you can meet in a certain location. Contrary certain actions must be done before Uber Diablo spawns.

Uber Diablo is a monster that spawns only on Hell level games when a certain number of Stone of Jordan Rings are sold to merchants. A notification is displayed onscreen whenever a Stone of Jordan is sold, indicating the number that has been sold. Once a certain number of these rings are sold, the whole screen shakes and the words ‘Diablo walks the earth’ appear on the screen. This message means that Uber Diablo has spawned. He will spawn at the first super-unique monster you encounter, so you can basically choose the location to fight Uber Diablo by selecting which super-unique you want him to replace. He is similar in appearance to Hell level Diablo and is a formidable challenge. His full list of skills and abilities includes: Fire Nova, Pink Lightning Hose, Cold Touch, Fire Wall, Firestorm, Bone Prison, Charge, Armageddon. It is recommended to have Prevents Monster Heal and/or Open Wounds, high lightning and fire resistance and physical damage reduction to fight him.

It is worth mentioning that you personally don’t actually need to sell any rings to meet Uber Diablo. The effect shares on all games on the server you play. So if anyone farms Uber Diablo and sells enough Stone of Jordan rings and you see “Diablo walks the earth” message you can also encounter him in place of any super-unique monster in any location of the Hell difficulty. Any player on this server in one game can encounter him. Beware if you play in an open game, as Uber Diablo spawns one per game and other players can kill him before you even find him.

In case you want to launch the event on your server yourself, you need to obtain a large number of Stone of Jordan Rings and sell them to a merchant. The number of required rings is random so you will need around 100-150 rings to be sure to activate the event from the first try. Where to get Stone of Jordan Rings? This ring has 29 item levels so it can be dropped from any monster starting from Act 5 on Normal difficulty. But there is a more effective way to farm these rings. Nightmare Andariel is the best way because she has a higher drop rate of accessories and the item level also meets the requirements.

After you sell a certain number of the rings and the message appears go to any preferred location on Hell that contains super-unique monsters and encounter Uber Diablo. After killing him you will get a reward described below.

Upon killing, Uber Diablo drops the only Unique Small Charm in the game, the Annihilus charm.
