Path of Exile Breachstones Guide

There are many splinters in Path of Exile that drop from league specific content. Here we will tell you more about Breach mechanic. Learn about breach splinters efficient farming, ways of obtaining breachstones and how to upgrade them.

One of the new aspirational content systems that have been included in 3.16 is Flawless Breachstones, which are the strongest endgame encounters for the Breach League mechanic. Flawless Breachstones will have extra modifiers that will improve rewards as well as challenges. Flawless Breachstones can be found from the Maven’s “The Hidden” Invitation in the endgame mapping system. This encounter is extremely difficult to complete and requires top-end gear to complete. Getting help from Global 820 or 4040 is advised if you are not confident in your build and think you’ll need help.

Breach splinters and Breachstones are needed to open the portal to one of the Breachlords. You will need 100 splinters to get a specific Breachstone. So names of Breachstones and how to get them is mentioned further.

Xoph’s Breachstone – Collect 100 Splinters of Xoph.

Esh’s Breachstone – Collect 100 Splinters of Esh.

Tul’s Breachstone – Collect 100 Splinters of Tul.

Uul-Netol’s Breachstone – Collect 100 Splinters of Uul-Netol.

Chayula’s Breachstone – Collect 100 Splinters of Chayula.

Ways to collect splinters and Breachstones faster

Below you can see various ways that will help you find more breach splinters and even Breachstones. almost every league has ways to make your breachstone farm more efficient.

Immortal Syndicate

First of all use scarabs that add breach encounters on maps. But before you get them to try your luck with Immortal Syndicate. There is a member who can provide you with Breach scarabs, or even with Breachstones if you help him to get a higher rank in the syndicate.

It That Fled is the name of the member of the Immortal syndicate who has the following perks for you.

As you can see you can focus on getting specific rewards from It That Fled. Breach Scarabs

From time to time, you will get scarabs. One type is associated with breaches. There are four types of them:

• Rusted Breach Scarab
• Polished Breach Scarab
• Gilded Breach Scarab
• Winged Breach Scarab

You can get all of them randomly as loot on maps, or via Skittering Incubator and Divination cards:

• Cameria’s Cut – Exchange 2 cards for a random Scarab
• More is Never Enough – Exchange 7 cards for random Gilded Scarab (Drop from Gorulis, Will-Thief, the boss of Infested Valley Map).

Winged Scarabs can be obtained in the Mastermind’s Lair from an Intervention member who was at Rank 3. They can also be obtained by Harvesting a Vivid Vulture, which has a chance of giving a crafting option that upgrades a Scarab, with a chance to upgrade it to a Winged variant.

Also, you will get scarabs from immortal syndicate (as written above). And can be found in specified heist chests that contain map fragments. And other league specific rewards such as Ritual, Ultimatum, and Blight encounter rewards,.

Heists and Grand Heists

There is Breach chest type that you can find on heist or grand heist. They can contain Breach Splinters, and rarely Breachstones or Empowered Breachstones. The main trick here is to take rogues on the job who can trigger such chests in the encounter. Breach chests can occur on contracts lvl 68+ if you take Vinderi (5), Isla (4), or Tullina (2) for Trap Disarmament job. Temple of Atzoatl

Level up Temple of Atzoatl room with breach encounters. The names of these rooms:

• 1st lvl – Splinter Research Lab (Contains Breach Splinters)
• 2nd lvl – Breach Containment Chamber (Contains a Breach)
• 3rd lvl – House of the Others (Contains three Breaches)

When you are there you’ll see additional collapsed hands that usually contain splinters.

Upgrade breaches in Atlas skill tree

Lex Proxima region:

Breach League

• Gatekeepers
  Breach Bosses Defeated in Areas have 5% chance to drop a Breachstone.
  Breach Bosses in Areas drop double Breach Splinters.
  Breaches in Areas have 100% increased chance to contain a Boss.
• Within Their Grasp
  Breachstones dropped by Breach Bosses in Areas have 1% chance to be Pure.
  Breachstones dropped by Breach Bosses in Areas have 3% chance to be Enriched.
  Breachstones dropped by Breach Bosses in Areas have 9% chance to be Charged.
  Breach Bosses Defeated in Areas have 5% chance to drop a Breachstone.
• Invading Force
  Breach Monsters in Areas grant 50% increased Experience.
  Breaches in Areas have 30% increased Area of Effect.
  Breaches in Areas have 30% increased Monster density.

Minor Node:

• Breach Chance
  Areas have +3% chance to contain Breaches.

Lira Arthain region:

Breach League

• Probing for Weaknesses
  Areas have a +10% chance to contain Breaches.
• Flash Breach
  Breaches in Areas open and close 50% faster.
  Breaches in Areas spawn 10 additional Rare Monsters.

Minor Node:

• Magic Breach Monster Chance
  Breaches in Areas spawn 30% increased Magic Monsters.

Other ways to get splinters or Breachstones

Some masters have league specific chest that can contain splinters, for example.

• You can find them in Ritual encounters as a reward.
• Ultimatum Trialmaster can also reward you with this type of rewards.
• Sister Casia from Blight league encounters sometimes spawn Breach reward chests that contain Breach Splinters, and rarely Breachstones or Empowered Breachstones.
• Legion mechanics have both Breaches chest during the encounter and Obscured Incubator that will drop Breach Item.
• You can find the Whispering Gallery node in Delve that Contains a Breach.
• The following divination cards can also speed up you in collecting breach splinters or breachstones:
  • The Bargain (5) – Random Pure Breachstone (drops from It That Fled)
  • The Eye of Terror (8) – Pure Chayula Breachstone
  • The Obscured (7) – A random Breachstone (drops from Abyss monsters)
  • The Puzzle (5) – 5x Breachstone Splinters (can drop from Beyond demons)
• The other one can drop from Metamorphs that Tane makes for you on maps. You need to be careful when you add organs as one of them can trigger breach reward. There are three of them: Drops additional Breach Splinters, Drops a Breach Blessing, Drops a Breachstone.
• Obscured Delirium Orb will grant you “Modifies a Map item adding layers of Delirium with the Breach Items reward type”. Also, you can see breach specific rewards during delirium on a map.

When you get a Breachstone you can place it into your map device and open portals to the boss. But also you can upgrade your Breachstone.

How to upgrade Breachstones

Each of five Breachstones can be upgraded, There are several upgrade types:

• Breachstone
• Charged Breachstone
• Enriched Breachstone
• Pure Breachstone

If you need the best type of Chayula’s Breachstone it will be Chayula’s Pure Breachstone. Other types follow the same logic.

In the section above you can also see the ways of farming breachstones from league specific chests and rewards, but the chance to get an upgraded version is very low, so It That Fled is in the Research section of the Immortal Syndicate in the Research or Mastermind Safehouse is the only guaranteed way to upgrade PoE breachstone.

Although a random Pure Breachstone can be exchanged for 5 The Bargain divination cards and Pure Chayula’s Breachstone you can get for exchanging 8 The Eye of Terror divination cards. The Bargain divination cards drop from It That Fled. Both cards can be given for 5 The Gambler cards and can be found in Stacked decks.
