What Diablo II: Resurrected Will Be Like

Released back in 2000, Diablo II still remains one of the most popular action RPGs, which is still played by many people around the world. It’s not worth talking about the fact that it became the founder of this genre and the unchanging ideal that other games try to repeat. Therefore, the announcement of the remastered version of this legendary game at BlizzConline 2021 was greeted with delight. What’s in store for loyal fans of the series and new players, how will Diablo II: Resurrected differ from the original game?

Probably before describing the innovations, it should be mentioned that they will leave the game the way the players remembered it twenty years ago. The original Diablo II awaits us along with the Lord of Destruction add-on. This means that five acts and seven classes remain the same, as well as the plot, gameplay and character skills, mercenaries and items.

Remastered graphics

First of all, the changes affected the graphics. Monsters, heroes, items, spells – the game is now available in Ultra High Definition 4k (2160p). This also applies to the original cutscenes, now you can see Prime Evils in a new way – Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal! Moreover, if you want to keep the original graphics, all this can be done by pressing one button using the legacy mode toggle.

Gameplay Features

Players will find a Redesigned User Interface with a more detailed description of the attributes and stats. Item tooltip comparisons will simplify gear selection, as well as automatic partying upon entering multiplayer games, which will speed up your Baal runs! At the same time, the developers did not forget about one of the most important QoL feature – Stash! It’s bigger now – size increased from 6×8 to 10×10 grid. And that’s not it! Now, in addition to Personal Stash, a Shared Stash tab will be available, which can be accessed by all characters on a single Battle.net account.

Get ready to conquer Ladder, because Revamped Ladder Seasons awaits us. The new system will open up an exclusive ladder, which will restarts more frequent than before. This is a great excuse to invite friends, as cooperative gameplay is supporting up to eight players!

Cross-Progression Feature

One of the interesting and intriguing innovations is cross-platform gameplay. The game plans to release on PC (Windows), Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X and S. And the progression tied to Battle.net will be available on each supporting platform! Now you can prevent evil from entering the world of Sanctuary wherever and whenever you want!
