WoW Classic Scarab Lord -The Scepter of the Shifting Sands Quest Line Guide

After WoW Classic Announced Opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj, we have been overhyped. It is possible to get Scarab Lord title and the only legendary mount again! If you are not sure what we are talking about reading about Black Qiraji Battle Tank here. Of course, these are not the only things that Ahn’Qiraj offers. But today in our World of Warcraft guide we’d like to tell you how to succeed in The Scepter of the Shifting Sands Quest Line. Gates of Ahn’Qiraj open in two weeks from now July 28, 2020. So it is high time to get ready for it.

The Scepter of the Shifting Sands Quest Line General Details

First of all, it is extremely hard to get the Scarab Lord title. You can get it if you obtain the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal. This is possible if you are in a group of players who are the first on their server to complete the quest Bang a Gong! This is the last quest in The Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline.

It is a bit easier to get Black Qiraji Battle Tank the legendary mount that you can get as a reward for completing Bang a Gong! quest. Remember that you have a limited time to get it. After the first player turns in the Bang a Gong! quest all other players on that server have 10 hours to complete this quest as well in order to get Black Qiraji Battle Tank. If you turn it in within the 10 hours after the first player you get the mount. If you fail to turn it in within 10 hours you lose your chance to get it forever!

Now you see why it is extremely important to be prepared and read our guide. If you what the rewards, of course.

Prepare for The Scepter of the Shifting Sands

You will need every single minute of your time when the questline opens. So be sure to put as much effort in it as you can, The key preparations before you start are:

  • Organize your time. You will need all of it if you what to get the rewards. Make sure that the whole week is at your disposal.
  • Find a guild that follows the same desires. You will not succeed if try to complete the questline solo. Moreover, it is a must that other groupmates are skilled players or you will lose the pressures time.
  • Decide who gets the drop. A lot of you want to get the title, but only one can be the lord on one server. So if you want to get the Scarab Lord title, then you need to find a guild that will support you and give all the quest items to you. So that you will be able to complete all the quests in time.
  • Arrange guildmember roles. Some can go and take quests and share them with other members. Others can reach the raid to summon other players. And some of you can shop for the needed items. All such things save you time.
  • Get all stuff on the shopping list and learn all the flight paths. These two points are described below.

Scarab Lord Shopping List

Stage 1: Starting Quests

!What Tomorrow Brings

Quest Starts/Ends: Baristolth of the Shifting Sands, Cenarion Hold, Silithus.

In order to complete this quest you’ll need to go to the Caverns of Time and approach Anachronos. He will not be aggressive to you, but watch out the others.

!Only One May Rise (RAID)

Quest Starts/Ends: Baristolth of the Shifting Sands, Cenarion Hold, Silithus.

This is the situation when you need to know who is getting the quest loot. To complete this quest the one who is trying for Scarab Lord needs to loot Broodlord Lashlayer in Blackwing Lair FIRST. As the first person with the active quest gets the Head of the Broodlord Lashlayer (quest item). The first and the only. So only once per week one can get the Head as you’ll need to wait raid respawn.

!The Path of the Righteous

Quest Starts/Ends: Baristolth of the Shifting Sands, Cenarion Hold, Silithus.

After the NPC gives you Agent of Nozdormu badge you’ll need to farm 200 Silithid Carapace Fragment in order to turn in the quest. Sounds easy, but taking into account that a lot of players will try to succeed in WoW Classic the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline will be overcrowded. It will be even harder to kill silithids in Silithus on PvP servers. You’ll need great support from your guildmates to protect you while farming, or to farm for you. On the other hand, you can buy them from the auction.

Stage 2: Reputation Levelling

This is not one the hardest but the longest part. Taking into the account that you can grind reputation with Brood of Nozdormu while doing the repeatable quest you will need to kill an incredible amount of silithids.

! The Hand of the Righteous (Repeatable Quest)

Quest Starts/Ends: Baristolth of the Shifting Sands, Cenarion Hold, Silithus.
Reputation: 200 Reputation with Brood of Nozdormu

You will need to do The Path of the Righteous quest all over again. Moreover, to continue the questline, you will need to get Neutral with Brood of Nozdormu. You can continue grinding reputation till 2999/3000 Neutral, that will be useful if you rush for the Scarab Lord. If not then you can continue your questline at 1/3000 Neutral. Also, you can use the Proxy of Nozdormu on your friend they will help you obtain silithids.

To get Neutral you will need to obtain 41,300 reputation points (41,230 as a Human). This means you’ll need to turn in The Hand of the Righteous 207 times (188 times as a Human). This will require you to gather 41,400 Silithid Carapace Fragment (37,600 as a Human). And plus 200 from completing The Path of the Righteous.

Stage 3: Second Wave of questline

AS I have already mentioned you will bee able to get the next quest after getting Neutral reputation with Brood of Nozdormu. The first one is the following.

! Anachronos

Quest Starts/Ends: Baristolth of the Shifting Sands, Cenarion Hold, Silithus.

Also, don’t forget to choose the ring. That will give an epic and reputation points with Brood of Nozdormu.

  • Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight – Agility DPS
  • Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight – Caster/Healer
  • Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight – Tank

! Long Forgotten Memories

Quest Starts/Ends: Anachronos, Tanaris.

Just find little red crystal to interact with to turn in this quest.

! A Pawn on the Eternal Board

Quest Starts: Crystalline Tear, Silithus.
Quest Ends: Anachronos, Tanaris.

The tricky bit here is that you need to hear all the story out. Don’t leave the place before the quest is marked completed. Otherwise, you’ll need to reactivate the crystal from the previous quest once more.

! The Charge of the Dragonflights

Quest Starts/Ends: Anachronos, Tanaris.

To continue with this quest line, you will need to collect three items: Red Scepter Shard, Green Scepter Shard, and Blue Scepter Shard. You can collect them in any order you would like. We will tell more about them further.

Stage 4: Scepter Shards

Many players say that it is easier to start with the Red Scepter Shard. So that’s the way to get it.

! Nefarius’s Corruption (RAID)

Quest Starts: Vaelastrasz the Corrupt, Blackwing Lair.
Quest Ends: Anachronos, Tanaris.

Speak with Vaelastrasz the Corrupt in Blackwing Lair before you engage him. By doing so you’ll trigger the 5-hour timer. During this time you’ll need to kill Nefarian (boss), who will drop only ONE Red Scepter Shard.

Try not to fail. As if you do your chance of getting the Scarab Lord and even the legendary mount are almost gone as you will need to wait one more week for raid reset.

After that you can continue doing quest to get the Green Scepter Shard. It will be easier and faster to ask for help and do them in a group.

! Eranikus, Tyrant of the Dream

Quest Starts: Malfurion Stormrage, The Temple of Atal’Hakkar near Shade of Eranikus.
Quest Ends: Forest Wisp, Teldrassil.

You can still do this quest even if your are the Horde. Just make sure to get the safiest road to the Alliance territory and don’t kill any NPCs.

You can find Malfurion Stormrage in The Temple of Atal’Hakkar (Sunken Temple) in the final room. No need to clear all the dungeon. Just approach Shade of Eranikus, and Malfurion Stormrage will appear.

! Tyrande and Remulos

Quest Starts: Forest Wisp, Teldrassil.
Quest Ends: Keeper Remulos, Moonglade.

Just follow the instruction in the quest.

! The Nightmare’s Corruption (RAID GROUP)

Quest Starts/Ends: Keeper Remulos, Moonglade.

Ashenvale’s Fragment of the Nightmare’s Corruption.
This is a low drop chance item from any of the dragonkin around Bough Shadow, in north-eastern Ashenvale.

Feralas’s Fragment of the Nightmare’s Corruption.
This is a low drop chance item from any of the dragonkin around Dream Bough, in northern Feralas.

The Hinterland’s Fragment of the Nightmare’s Corruption.
This is a low drop chance item from any of the dragonkin around Seradane, in north-eastern The Hinterlands.

Duskwood’s Fragment of the Nightmare’s Corruption.
Head to the Twilight Grove in Duskwood. The final destination will be near.

In order to get them, you’ll need a group of players and a raid group for the Duskwood’s one. You can read guide and mechanics about the last fragment here.

! The Nightmare Manifests (RAID)

Quest Starts: Keeper Remulos, Moonglade. Starts event upon acceptance.
Quest Ends: Keeper Remulos, Moonglade.

The moment you accept the quest you start the event. You’ll need to protect Nighthaven until Tyrande arrives. You will do the quest with you raid group, so be ready. Great tactics are here.

! The Champion Returns

Quest Starts: Keeper Remulos, Moonglade.
Quest Ends: Anachronos, Tanaris.

Just get your Green Scepter Shard already. And continue to the Blue Scepter Shard. The most time-consuming shard which is all about getting to the core place and taking the right thing. Just read the guide here with all the screenshots and tips to do it faster.

Stage 5: The Final Stage!

Here you will open the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj and get the rewards you’ve been looking for (we hope).

! The Might of Kalimdor

Quest Starts/Ends: Narain Soothfancy, Steamwheedle Port, Tanaris, near.

Go and get The Scepter of the Shifting Sands! The one you’ve been trying to get so hard. After that, you will open the Gates and go to the raid to get rewards.

! Bang a Gong!

Quest Starts/Ends: The Scarab Gong, Silithus.

This is not a part of The Scepter of the Shifting Sands Quest Line, but you will need to do it in order to get the Scarab Lord title and Black Qiraji Battle Tank.

! Treasure of the Timeless One

Quest Starts/Ends: Jonathan the Revelator, Silithus, near The Scarab Gong.

If you are lucky and you are the one to get here first, then you’ll see this quest. After completing it you’ll get the Scarab Lord title. No other players on your server will get it after that. Even your raid group.

So the path is long and hard. Will you dare trying?
