Neuvillette Talents

What is most important when you make a team comp in Genshin Impact is to remember that your characters must work together. Their talents need to assist each other and only via reactions. Some characters have talents that will change the whole impression about them when you see their talents.

Like any other character, Neuvillette has two types of talents – active and passive. The whole description of Neuvillette’s skills (talents) you can read via the link. In this post, we focus on the basic strategies and will explain what Neuvillette talents are worth paying attention to. Let’s start with talent priority for Neuvillette.

Talent Priority for Neuvillette

As Water Seeks Equilibrium > O Tears, I Shall Repay > O Tides, I Have Returned

As Water Seeks Equilibrium is Neuvillette’s Normal Attack. Neuvillette’s Normal Attacks and regular Charged Attacks are largely unimportant compared to his Equitable Judgment Charged Attacks. These long-ranged enhanced Charged Attacks are his main source of damage, dealing continuous, AoE, HP-scaling damage to all enemies in range after an initial wind-up. They do not consume any Stamina, and if Neuvillette’s HP is above 50%, will continuously drain his HP over their duration.

O Tears, I Shall Repay is Neuvillette’s Elemental Skill. Neuvillette’s Skill deals AoE Hydro damage to opponents in front of him and creates 3 Sourcewater Droplets. It’s primarily used to generate both Energy and Sourcewater Droplets, and does not make up a significant portion of his damage.

O Tides, I Have Returned is Neuvillette’s Elemental Burst. Neuvillette’s Burst deals AoE Hydro damage and, after a short interval, generates 6 Sourcewater Droplets. Similarly to his Skill, Neuvillette’s Burst makes up a small portion of his damage; however, the amount of Sourcewater Droplets it generates makes it mandatory in the vast majority of his rotations.

Neuvillette Ascension Passives

The other important thing is to know how exactly character ascension enhances them and what advantages you can get out of it for your team-building strategy. We what to attract your attention to the following Neuvillette Ascension Passives.

Heir to the Ancient Sea’s Authority

1st Ascension Passive

A Base DMG Multiplier for Neuvillette’s Charged Attacks that increases their damage multiplicatively for every unique Hydro reaction that is triggered, up to 3 stacks. In practice, stacks are obtained by having non-Hydro teammates of different Elements each.

Discipline of the Supreme Arbitration

4th Ascension Passive

An appreciated but minor increase to Neuvillette’s damage. Since absorbed Sourcewater Droplets only heal Neuvillette at the beginning of his CA, he will gradually lose this Hydro DMG Bonus over the course of the attack without external healing.

Depending on what we have written above we will continue with character combinations that will suit Genshin Impact Neuvillette team the most.

As for the constellations. Neuvillette’s C6 allows him to extend his Charged Attack’s duration by 1s by absorbing nearby Sourcewater Droplets once his Charged Attack nears its end. This makes his C4 useful as the additional Droplets allow him to extend his CA’s duration by 2–3s total. Said Charged Attacks will now also deal 2 additional instances of damage every 2s for a further increase in DPS. But you can stop on C3 if you want.

Genshin Impact Neuvillette Team Comp Options

There are several roles that all characters obtain in Genshin Impact. Your perfect team would consist of the Main DPS, 2 SUB-DPS characters and one Support. Main DPS is occupied by a character that can deal a decent amount of damage from all sources, auto attacks, elemental reactions and elemental bursts. Sub DPSs are needed to activate reactions that boost the main DPS’ damage or deal some extra damage while the main DPS is sticking their elemental burst. Support can vary typically it is a healer/shielder, but in some cases, it can be a battery (the character that stacks elemental burst for the team) or a spreader (the character that can spread reactions activated by all the characters).

Neuvillette is a classical main DPS character. There are many builds that can show the whole potential of Neuvillette but we will show only some of them. You can follow the logic and change characters in the teams depending on what character you obtain. Also, you will see f2p Neuvillette team and find a link to another post where we explain what other characters match Neuvillette and why.

Genshin Impact FREE TO PLAY Neuvillette team

Neuvillette can act as an on-field Hydro applier in Hyperbloom teams, generating Dendro Cores for an Electro unit to trigger Hyperbloom. Since he does not deal reaction damage, Neuvillette keeps his regular build and contributes respectable personal damage instead. His AoE Charged Attacks also help balance out the team’s otherwise more single-target nature. A more affordable alternative that comes with several caveats. The team’s short Skill durations can feel clunky, and Collei’s limited range forces Neuvillette close to enemies.

The BEST Neuvillette team

This Electro-Charged team that is centred around Neuvillette revolves around multiple supports to maximize his DMG output. Kazuha swirling around Fischl’s Electro application is great for triggering Electro-Charged constantly. Since casting Neuvillette’s Charged Attack will leave him vulnerable, Zhongli long-lasting shield and RES Shred make him an excellent comfort option in teams that appreciate resistance to interruption.

Hypercarry Neuvillette team

Hypercarry Neuvillette teams center around buffing Neuvillette’s personal damage, letting him deal the majority of the team’s DPS. Although these teams scale well with Constellations and investment into Neuvillette, they are currently limited by a lack of options to buff his damage and forced to instead run off-field DPS units.

It is recommended to run Kazuha due to his DMG% buff and ability to hold 4pc VV. An offensive teammate can contribute additional buffs and their own personal damage, and a defensive teammate can provide appreciated interruption resistance and survivability. Ideally, both should be able to accommodate Neuvillette’s field time requirements.

Having teammates who can stack Neuvillette’s A1 Passive is preferable for maximizing DPS, though not required. His C1 makes this less of a concern, and additionally lets the defensive teammate be swapped out for a more offensive unit.

Other options to comp with Neuvillette

Below you can see some other options to play with Neuvillette, but these are not teams as such.

Nahida provides unmatched off-field Dendro application through her Skill, and its long duration means she won’t interfere with Neuvillette’s field time requirements. It’s not recommended to Burst with her as Neuvillette is unable to take advantage of its EM buff.

Raiden is an excellent off-field Hyperbloom trigger with a long duration on her Skill and low field time requirements. In addition, her Skill offers an Elemental Burst DMG Bonus for her teammates. Since her Skill can be triggered from a distance, it lets Neuvillette take full advantage of his range.

Similarly to Raiden, Shinobu is an off-field Hyperbloom trigger. Her Skill offers off-field healing and Electro application, but its limited duration means she will have to swap in to refresh at least once per rotation. Its limited AoE also restricts Neuvillette’s range.

Layla can slot in to provide defensive utility for players who need it. She offers a strong shield and some personal damage, with her C4 granting a minor buff to Neuvillette’s Charged Attacks.

Nilou Bloom remains a strong team that excels in multi-target scenarios, and Neuvillette’s AoE Charged Attacks let him slot right in. Ideally, he should be paired with two Dendro units, one of whom will be responsible for the majority of the team’s Dendro application. Due to Bountiful Cores’ self-damage, players may need to run a dedicated healer or shielder as the second Dendro unit, as Neuvillette’s own healing may not be able to keep up during his extended field time. Nilou is a requirement for the Bountiful Bloom playstyle. It’s not recommended to use non-Nilou Bloom teams.
