Is there Sunwell Plateau Attunement?

WoW Burning Crusade has been divided into several phases that will launch separately and unlock a huge part of the content from the TBC classic. Sunwell Plateau is a TBC raid that will be added into the game in phase 5 (which is the last one). Many dungeons and raids have special Attunement chains and requirements that you need to complete before you can enter the instance. But is there Sunwell Plateau Attunement?

Sunwell Plateau is a 25-man raid instance located on the Isle of Quel’Danas, originally implemented with Patch 2.4 of Burning Crusade. The instance is intended to be the most difficult in the game until Wrath of the Lich King, and caters to Black Temple/Hyjal geared raiders. The instance bosses drop tokens redeemable for new pieces added to the Tier 6 Armor Sets and loot better than that from Black Temple. The final boss also drops Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury.

Sunwell Plateau is the only raid of Phase 5 of Classic Burning Crusade, as well as the final raid of Classic Burning Crusade.

How to get Attunement to Sunwell Plateau?

If you want to know whether your char is eligible to enter Sunwell Plateau or do you still need to take some extraordinary steps to get attuned to Sunwell Plateau the answer is no. There is no attunement required. Anyone, who has reached level 70 can enter, but still, there are some peculiarities. First of all, it is the final raid in TBC and you must be prepared.

And the other thing is that previously when WoW Burning Crusade patch 2.4 launched back in 2008 (the one that added Sunwell Plateau) the gates inside of the raid opened in some periods of time but not all at once.

The last 3 bosses were only available as each gate – which blocked the next boss encounter – opened over a set period of time on all servers. The first gate was opened on 8 April 2008 in the US, two weeks after the patch went live. The second gate opened after weekly maintenance on April 29, 2008. The third and final gate was opened on May 20, 2008 on US realms. The difficulty of the instance was set at the first 3 bosses being on par with Tier 6 encounters, and then the last three and increasing from each.

We can expect the same sequence of events this time when WoW Burning Crusade Classic phase 5 launches.
