Path of Exile: Ritual League Review

Despite the fact that the release of the Ritual League was postponed for a month, I think all players will agree that the result was worth these expectations. The new league was able to please not only with interesting mechanics but also with a new end-game expansion – Echoes of the Atlas.

Rewarding Rituals

Why is the new league mechanic so good? Ritual Altars, which are scattered in each zone, in the amount of 3 to 4 pieces, have a simple and straightforward mechanism. Kill the mobs that are nearby to activate the Altar, cope with the wave of monsters and get a Tribute for it – a special currency. This Tribute allows you to buy rewards that will unlock after clearing Altars in the zone. Choose what you like and get it (maybe not right away, some expensive things will have to be bought in parts using Deferring). That’s it – no timers and confusing mechanics, kill mobs and get rewards – that’s what makes Rituals special. Moreover, there can be any reward – even the Mirror of Kalandra or Headhunter Belt.

New Atlas

Sirus and the rest of the Conquerors are still available, finding and killing them is still a significant part of Atlas’ progress. However, a mysterious new enemy, Maven, who is hungry for spectacle will be the new end-game boss. The battle with her will not be easy, so players will face a real test! Most importantly, she unlocks a new mechanic – the Atlas passive skill. She goes to personally monitor how the player copes with several bosses in the same arena at the same time, but for this the reward is appropriate. Atlas passive skill is available for each region, that is, eight separate trees. Each Atlas passive skill tree has a unique set of talents and will allow each player to choose for themselves which mechanics from past leagues he wants to meet more often and receive more rewards from them. And for those who can throw the final challenge from Maven, the ninth Atlas passive skill tree, The Uncharted Realms, awaits, which will allow players to access the ultimate rewards for clearing Atlas content.
