We have written a new complete Path of Exile Sentinel League Challenges Complete Guide. Below you can see the full list of PoE 3.18 challenges and tips on how to complete them. We have divided them into categories starting from the easiest ones. If you what to know about Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel Challenge Rewards List just click on the link.
There are 40 challenges in PoE. Some are easy to obtain during levelling, and others are harder or almost impossible to achieve. In our Path of Exile, Sentinel League Challenges Complete Guide you will read the tips that will help you do as many PoE challenges as you can even all 40 if that is your goal.
Our guide is presented in the rating difficulty list. That means that we have divided the full Sentinel challenges list into four difficulties: easy (the most part of them you’ll do while levelling), normal (you can obtain them with a minimal effort), hard (you’ll need to try and repeat several times to do them), very hard (you’ll need to farm numerous maps and know and be able to kill end-game bosses).
This time challenge rewards have a new system. You can get two different sets and a challenger trophy from completing all 40 challenges. Sets will be awarded in parts from level 6 every 2 completed challenges you will earn a part of a set. Ophidian Set from 6 to 24 challenges and Ophidian Lord Set from 28 to 38 challenges. The trophy as usual you start collecting from level 19 till level 40. Due to the fact that now you get more cosmetics every 2 challenges, you can stop at any point if it is hard for you to go further. But in any case, Sentinel League Challenges are not too hard this time.
As we have already said you’ll see them get completed while you play and level up your champion. If you finish the last act you’d probably have all the following 8 challenges completed.
Complete each of the following tasks.
Gems can be obtained in different ways, but purchasing them from vendors is the easiest one. The first vendor that sells gems is Nessa in the Lion Eye’s watch. More you can read in the PoE Gems guide.
You can socket a Jewel into your Passive Skill Tree if you put a skill point into the empty slot in the tree. The first jewel you get as a reward in the second Act. There are several types of jewels that can be socketed into the passive tree. You can also read about Cluster Jewels.
You will see 4 linked items drop in Act three. Also, you can use a jewelled orb (on high item level) gloves, boots, helm, or armour to get at least 4 sockets. If you use an orb of fusing you can get them linked. Or you can wait until the Act 6 and get a 4 linked item as a reward.
Complete each of the following encounters.
This is related to new mechanics. You can read all details in Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel League Mechanics Guide.
Complete vendor recipes to receive each of the following items. A vendor recipe is when you trade a specific combination of items to a vendor, not when you buy items from their purchase screen.

Complete each of the following encounters.
Vaal side Areas are zones in areas that can randomly appear. You will see a red sign on the minimap and a red entrance noting that this is a corrupted zone. Enter it and kill the boss in the end and click on the pillar. It will drop items and open a portal out. That means you’ve completed a Vaal side area.
You can choose an Ascendancy only after completing the first Labyrinth trial. You can read more about it in Path of Exile: Labyrinth Trials Guide.
Blood Altar is a special device that allows sacrificing beasts for the craft. You can read more details in Path of Exile Bestiary League Guide.

Defeat Magic or Rare Monsters with 18 of the following Modifiers.
These are modes inherited from the previous league Archnemesis. But now you don’t need to craft these mods. Monsters will get those Modifiers randomly as you play the game. We have a post where every modifier is described and you can see what to expect from the monster – Path of Exile Archnemesis Recipes Full List. Just use the search on the page with the name of the modifier and you will see its effects.
These challenges are as hardy autocomplete as the previous ones. Here you’ll need to do some research, but they are also pretty easy to obtain.
Complete each of the following Breach encounters.
This is a part of all league mechanics. You can read a full guide: Path of Exile Breachstones Guide o lear everything you need to know about it.
Defeat each of the following Possessed Rogue Exiles.
Best way to do this challenge is to make use of:
This challenge requires a bit of RNG to find each of every one of these rogue exiles, but with the help of the new atlas passive this challenge should be fine. A neat thing to know is that Rogue Exiles cannot spawn two of the same rogue exile in a single map. This means if you’re somehow able to get at least 34 possessed rogue exiles in a map they will all be different ones, and killing them all will complete the challenge.
Complete each of the following Essence encounters.
All needed information is written in Path of Exile Essences Guide.
Assemble Sentinels in each of the following ways.
Find the answers in Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel League Mechanics Guide.
Complete each of the following Metamorph encounters.

More information about a Harvest Boss is here (but there is an old Atlas skill tree, use the one we mention in this post above).
Complete each of the following Delirium encounters.
We have a wonderful guide that will answer to any questions: Path of Exile Simulacrum Guide. There you will find a link to delirium bosses as well.
Use Recombinators in each of the following ways.
It is related to Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel League Mechanics Guide.
Use Eldritch Altars in each of the following ways.
In Searing Exarch influenced maps, killing monsters will occasionally spawn in an altar, which can make the current map more difficult while improving rewards. You will have a choice to pick from, which generally is buffing the map boss or the map monsters, in exchange for more rewards. These will appear relatively frequently, with there being nodes on the Atlas Passive Tree that will increase the amount of Eldritch Altars you encounter during maps. This challenge requires you to take
Pretty much same with the above challenge(250 Searing Exarch) except this is the other influence, eater of worlds and have to take the other atlas passive name
Should be pretty simple, is like a follow up of the above challenge (250 Searing Exarch) just grind on searing exarch influence in Tier16 rare map then you’ll finish this challenge without even realising it.
Should be pretty simple, is like a follow up of the above challenge (250 Eater of Worlds) just grind on Eater of Worlds influence in Tier 16 rare map then you’ll finish this challenge without even realising it.

Defeat each of the following encounters while they are Empowered by a Sentinel.
It is related to Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel League Mechanics. But also to all previous mechanics as well. You will need to apply delirium on a map and have a boss on it and only before you start the fight you need to activate a sentinel of your choice. The same story about other mechanics. Also, pay attention to the level of the zone.
Defeat The Searing Exarch in Absence of Patience and Wisdom while the area is level 85.
This is one of the last bosses on the current Atlas. You can read how to reach him in Path of Exile Siege of the Atlas Mechanics. As for the area level. This challenge requires you to take ”Thirst for Knowledge” from atlas passive in order to spawn Searing Exarch with area level 85.

Complete each of the following Atlas Grinds.
This is a combination of Maven mechanics and Path of Exile Siege of the Atlas Mechanics. You will find all the answers in those two guides. To reset the witnessed map bosses by Maven you need to use Maven’s Invitation: The Atlas and witness them again.
Defeat The Shaper while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Getting witnessed by Maven should be fine but highly recommended high DPS builds to kill shaper fast, because the longer you drag the fights the more mechanics Maven will add on to Shaper such as cloning, and regening life which is very annoying. To learn how to witness Shaper read Maven mechanics.
The Shaper only uses its Beam attack when you’re in melee range with it. So best to do this with range build, but if you’re playing melee build no worries you still can do it just a little harder. When you saw the charging up animation for its beam, you got a few milliseconds to run behind it to avoid getting damage by its beam, also is a good time to deal a ton of damage on it while it is casting this skill.
Volatile anomalies are the vortex balls that spawn once every few seconds and when touched the player will create a vortex that permanently stains the arena until the phase ends. To do this challenge you have to be fast … the faster you kill Shaper the less volatile anomalies will spawn thus less hassle to dodge those anomalies during the fight. Is best to stay in the middle of the arena during the whole fight because most of the anomalies spawn at the edge of the arena, so try to stay in the middle when fighting it to avoid getting near the anomalies.
A bit tricky but achievable by using
To learn how to unlock the Shaper read How to Unlock All Endgame Bosses in Path of Exile guide. And each condition is described above.
Complete each of the following encounters.
One of the new aspirational content systems that have been included in the 3.16 are Blight Ravaged Maps. Blight Ravaged Maps are the final and hardest encounters for the Blight League mechanic. They act as harder versions of Blighted Maps with faster and stronger monsters and can be anointed with up to 9 oils (with a max of 3 oils per type). You get Blight Ravaged maps from high tiered Blighted Maps. Some builds are stronger at completing Blighted Maps, most namely large AoE builds and/or builds with inbuilt on-death explosion effects as the Blight monsters are often bunched together allowing for large chain explosions to occur. This challenge wants you to do the 8 modifiers blight-ravaged map, which can only be obtained via corrupting the map (click here to buy), sounds pretty risky but is achievable with some tricks, click the link below to learn the strategies to complete the map easily.
Medved, Feller of Heroes required logbook item level 68+ (Tier1+ maps) from Druids of the Broken Circle faction.
Vorana, Last to Fall required logbook item level 68+(Tier1+ maps) from Black Scythe Mercenaries faction.
Uhtred, Covetous Traitor required logbook item level 75+(Tier8+ maps) from Order of the Chalice faction.
Olroth, Origin of the Fall required logbook item level 81+(Tier14+ maps) from Knights of the Sun faction. |
More about Expedition mechanics you can read in Path of Exile 3.15 Expedition League Mechanics Guide. There you’ll learn how to find them.
One of the new aspirational content systems that have been included in the 3.16 is Unrelenting Timeless Emblems, which is the true endgame of the Legion Encounters. Unrelenting Timeless Emblems can drop from monsters in the Domain of Timeless Conflict, with the higher level encounters giving more chances for Unrelenting Timeless Emblems. This encounter is extremely difficult to profit from, especially because this challenge requires you to put 4 of unrelenting emblems which each of them makes the monster even stronger, and requires top end gear to complete it. Getting help from Global 820 or 4040 is advised if you are not confident in your build and think you’ll need help.
It is one of the Delve Bosses. You will find a great explanation in the guide we added.
Defeat The Black Star while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Craft this map fragment to rare, reroll it until it gets item quantity above 80%+ for this challenge OR can buy it from here instead.
The fight arena is split into half: cold zone and hot zone, and depending on which zone you’re standing you’re gaining a certain buff per second on that zone:
To do this challenge, you have to stay perfectly on the splitting line of the arena, so that you can reset the buff count on and off by switch-standing on both zone easily, just watch to watch out for each buff not exceeding more than 6 stacks, that’s mean not standing each zone for more than 6 seconds. So watchout for that while killing the boss to complete this challenge.
To do this challenge you’ll have to only stand on the hot zone while avoiding touching the cold zone to prevent failing this challenge, gain up to 30 stacks of the annihilating light buffs only then kill the boss to complete this challenge.
To do this challenge you’ll have to only stand on the cold zone while avoiding touching the hot zone to prevent failing this challenge, gain up to 30 stacks of the crushing darkness buffs only then kill the boss to complete this challenge.
Defeat The Infinite Hunger while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Craft this map fragment to rare, reroll it until it gets item quantity above 80%+ for this challenge OR can buy it from here instead.
Catchphrase: Melt!
Catchphrase: Digestion!
Vomit is its projectile attack a bit hard to avoid. Need decent movement speed to dodge it, just be ready to run when you hear the sound queue of this skill.
After 30 seconds of the fight begins, the boss arena will slowly be covered by “sludge” and will cover the whole arena no matter what, thus the “sludge” will consume you no matter what and it’ll sent you to a swamp area and you’ll have to exit that area ASAP or you’ll get
This challenge should be very easy to do with the logout-tricks, just have to enter the swamp 3 times without getting too many debuffs, which is just logout as soon as you enter the swamp area to avoid getting a lot of debuffs. After re-enter the swamp 3 times, kill the boss then you’ll complete this challenge easily. (NOTE: Do not logout before entering the swamp or else the boss arena is still covered by the sludge, the sludge only reset after you enter the swamp.)
Defeat The Searing Exarch while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Craft this map fragment to rare, reroll it until it gets item quantity above 80%+ for this challenge OR can buy it from here instead.
After the fight begins the arena will fill with these “searing runes” on the floor where you’ll get
Catchphrase: The fires of a thousand suns!
This challenge is a bit tricky because you have to do this while the Searing Exarch’s life is below 20%. The best way to do this challenge is to DPS the boss’s life to below 20% fast, then when the boss’s life is low enough then wait for the next meteor phase to occur. Sadly this phase cannot be cheesed like how the Eater of Worlds one can be; you still can log out and back in but once you move in the map the boss will redo the meteor phase again, instead of starting it when you enter the arena.
A Summon Skeleton build with Vaal summon Skeletons, Frostwall and Hydrosphere can do a decent job of soaking up the meteors as well; just spawn a lot of skeletons in the middle alongside your frost walls and hydrosphere then dodge the rest of the meteors. Be careful of the fire runes on the ground as they can make dodging really difficult!
Easy Method: Apparently you still can complete this challenge even if you died during that phase without touching the meteor. Thus, when the boss life is low enough, wait for the next meteo phase and when it happens, get your character kill by the Searing Rune on the floor, stay dead till the meteor phase is over then resurrect yourself, re-enter the map, kill the boss then you’ll complete this challenge easily. (Tricks: You can use unique that prevent monster from dying such as Speaker’s Wrath or Southbound thus easier to make monster to low life without worry killing it)
Catchphrase: Annihilation!
Annihilation is a skill that the boss use kinda similar to
Defeat The Eater of Worlds while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Craft this map fragment to rare, reroll it until it gets item quantity above 80%+ for this challenge OR can buy it from here instead.
The boss arena has floating balls roaming around the arena and will “drown” you if you touch them. So to do this challenge is pretty easy, basically just to fail avoiding these balls at least 10 times.
Catchphrase: Inescapable Doom!
After a certain time, the boss will teleport to the centre of the arena and begin to channel, while tracking the player with a beam with a steadily growing AoE from above. Purple spheres are spawned around the arena by Maven. The player has to stand in the circle around each sphere for a few moments to activate them (the sphere begins to glow distinctly). If the player fails to activate all spheres within 20 seconds, extreme damage is dealt to everything in the arena. For this challenge you have to avoid getting hit by the tracking beam 10 times (each tick adds a stack) from the boss’ charging circle so it’s advised you shouldn’t run this invitation with AoE if you want to complete this challenge. You can cheese this part of the fight by logging out to character select just as the boss starts to say “Inescapable Doom!”, logging back in and joining the area but NOT moving. When you join the area again the boss should still be doing the charging laser but since you have invulnerability you can just wait until the 20 seconds are up, then you can continue fighting the boss.
Simple enough just have to craft “Titan’s” prefix modifier on the invitation map, although would make the fight much harder because of its AOE increase especially during the inescapable doom phase will be much painful to do run the map with that modifier and kill the boss to complete this challenge.
Defeat each of the following Map Bosses in Rare 8-mod Tier 16 Maps while they are Empowered by Unique Sentinels.
There is a set of unique Sentinels that empower certain T16 Map Bosses; giving them a large amount of rewards while giving them more damage, reduced damage taken and in some cases new mechanics. This challenge requires you to defeat 5 of these empowered map bosses. Be warned as once the Unique Sentinels have empowered their respective bosses they will destroy themselves, so you only get one chance to fight them. Also note that the bosses have to be fought in 8-mod T16 maps which you can only get through Vaal Orbing. It is related to Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel League Mechanics Guide.
Defeat The Elder in The Shaper’s Realm while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
While fighting the Uber Elder, Madness Propagators will spawn every 10 seconds. So this challenge is simple enough, just have to “farm” this small enemy by killing 3 of them within 5 seconds or just wait a bunch of them to spawn to do this challenge, although they will create eldritch decay(degen pool) on the ground if If left alive for long enough. So the best way to do this is wait till you almost finish the fight(left Elder last alive) then wait a bit longer for these propagators to spawn, when saw 3 of them then only clear them then finally kill the Elder to complete this challenge. |
Catchphrase: Gaze into the abyss.
This challenge might be slightly easier than the above one(without detonating anomalies), but a bit tricky because kinda dragging the fight a bit longer to spawn such an amount of anomalies in the arena, not to mention how chaotic the fight is gonna be if drag so long. If not mistaken, volatile anomalies will spawn every 20 seconds so try to last the fight more than 7 minutes-ish? Or kill the Shaper and leave Elder the last alive then suicide your character in the arena, let the fight last longer a bit till you see 20 volatile anomalies spawns, resurrect and re-enter the map, run around the arena donating at least 20 anomalies only then kill Elder to finish this challenge.
To learn how to unlock the Elder read How to Unlock All Endgame Bosses in Path of Exile guide. And each condition is described above.
Defeat The Maven while fulfilling each of the following conditions.
Catchphrase: A Cascade of Pain!
Cascade of Pain is a skill in which the boss will shoot 5 white-projectiles consecutively towards player with its sound queue. It’s a bit hard to dodge them since the projectiles are pretty fast … best way to do this challenge is to just have high DPS to shorten the fights, the faster you kill it the less mechanic you have to avoid.
Maven will sometimes do a Memory Game every few seconds(roughly 30 seconds) during the fight. She’ll start this Memory Game when she goes to the middle arena then splits the arena into 3, then starts glowing in a certain area. You have to remember the glowing area in sequence because as she does the glowing ground thing, she’ll start making an explosion-circle under her slowly expanding outward, so now you have to move around the zone according to the sequence she showed just now to stop the explosion-circle from getting bigger. The floor will flash a green colour if you step on the correct area in sequence. If you fail her memory game, the explosion-circle will continue to expand till cover the whole arena then explode instantly killing your character, although you can actually escape the explosion by logging out then rejoin the map and wait till the phase is finished then you can continue your fight. The Memory Game has 3 sequences for the first time, then the rest will have 6 sequences instead.
Also make sure don’t go through the middle of the arena when you’re doing the sequence because the explosion-circle actually can hurt “prematurely” you while she’s creating it, so try run the outer circle of the arena when doing the sequence and move as fast as possible to finish her puzzle before the circle touches you.
This Brain Boss will circle the arena during the fight, and it sometimes shoots these 3 projectiles that will become active(glowing) then chase towards your character, and those projectiles the longer it stays the faster it moves. When those projectiles collide/touch your character, it will explode then create Gravity Well (galaxy ground) that deals cold degen damage, which is very similar to shaper’s orb(Volatile Anomalies) mechanic. So to this challenge you gonna have a high DPS build, the faster you kill Maven the less Gravity Well you have to dealt with, you still make those projectile explode just don’t step on those ground where it exploded creates the Gravity Well thingie avoid stepping on those ground effect while killing Maven to complete this challenge.
To learn how to unlock the Mavem read Maven mechanics guide. And each condition is described above.
To complete the following four challenges you will need as much time as one week and a decent build for completing the top end-game content and bosses.
Defeat each of the following targets while affected by the Covetous Shrine buff.
You can read details about all these bosses in our two guides. The first one is How to Unlock All Endgame Bosses in Path of Exile and the other one is How to Find All Endgame League Specific Bosses in Path of Exile. It is not as hard as luck-dependant. You need to craft a map with the needed league mechanic and hope that it will contain the Covetous Shrine buff.
Complete any four of these encounters the specified number of times.
No need to do all of them but choose 4 the most appropriate and easy for you. We recommend skipping reaching level 100 as it is time-consuming and the other one that you find least interesting.
We have written a separate post about it and you can see all Sentinel League Challenge Rewards in Path of Exile 3.18 Sentinel Challenge Rewards List or you can also watch the video above.
