In this guide, we’ll help you set up a stash so you can start selling items in Path of Exile.
Path of Exile is a free-to-play game that was released in 2013, and all of its content has always been available without any restrictions. Nevertheless, there are additional utilities that simplify the game process. One of them is premium tabs. They are designed to make it easier to store items, as well as to add the ability to put items up for sale right in the game in an easy and accessible way. We will explain how this works in our guide “How to sell items in PoE” below.
How do I set up stash tabs in PoE?
First of all, you need to buy some premium tabs in Path of Exile. The cheapest way to do this is to take some points worth $5 and upgrade all your regular tabs to premium tabs. You can buy them in-game by going to the in-game shop or on the official PoE website here. Select “Stash tabs” from the list there, and the cheapest option is to upgrade one of your tabs to a premium stash tab for 15 PoE points.
However, you can only buy 50 points for $5 at once, so browse the store, consider the discounts that GGG often offers, especially at the beginning of a new league, and choose the right option for buying PoE points for you. But to be able to trade from a tab, you must have at least one premium tab, don’t forget about it!
After you purchase premium tabs, right-click on them and you’ll get several options for customizing them:
If you want to start selling items, you need to check the “Public” option and choose the option that suits you best from the drop-down menu. For example, in the picture above, the option “Each Item Individually Priced” is selected, which means that each item you put in this tab of the stash will need to be priced separately.
Note: If you check any of the tab affinity options, items that match the affinity you checked will automatically move to that tab, regardless of which tab you have open if you use the “quick stash” hotkey.
Selling things in Path of Exile
Since your premium tab should already be ready to go, the next step is to place the product you want to sell inside the tab and right-click on it:
You can choose an exact price, which is mostly the preferred option in Path of Exile, or you can set a negotiated price if you like to haggle a bit. Then select the type of currency you want to sell the item for (in this case, Chaos Orb) and the amount you want to sell it for. If you want to sell currency items or just items that tend to accumulate, you can set a higher price for larger quantities. For example, if you write 5/20, it means that you will price 5 Chaos Orbs for 20 items from the stack.
Premium tab options in Path of Exile
There are quite a few premium stash options available in PoE, but you don’t need all of them unless you want to use them. The most useful premium stash tab in PoE that we recommend is definitely the Currency Stash Tab:
This is probably the most useful tab because you will always find many units of these items, and in this tab, they are stacked up to 5000 instead of 20/40. This will definitely save you a lot of space. In addition, scroll pieces or sphere shards will automatically stack and turn into a whole unit as soon as the required number of them appears. A very convenient and necessary tab for a comfortable game.
Another tab in Path of Exile that will save you a lot of space is definitely the Map Stash Tab:
This tab will help you save space in your PoE stash and a lot of time searching for the maps you need. It also shows you which maps you have cleared while you are still filling out the atlas. It is also very convenient when you sell maps in bulk, as you can sell directly from it.
Awakened PoE Trade app
Awakened PoE Trade is a very useful community-created app that will help you check prices of items and guide you in the right direction when choosing a price to post without having to manually check the marketplace every time. It is very easy to set up and use.
Although this is in a way the only “paid” feature of Path of Exile, I think it’s worth it, especially because of the added convenience it provides. There are also frequent stash sales, so it’s quite affordable if you think the developers deserve some extra support.
