There are seven elements in Genshin Impact that form gameplay. The game is based on elemental reactions and different combinations that support your fighting performance. Pyro is one of the first active elements added to the game. This post will tell you how the Pyro element works in Genshin Impact.
What element is Pyro?
Pyro is an aggressive element used by characters with strong damage from reactions. Pyro triggers reactions with all other six elements. Below you can see the Pyro resonance effects and all Pyro reactions.
It is also worth knowing about the distinguishing symbols of the Pyro element. This is the icon and the colour. We will use them in this and future posts to denote the Pyro element.
Also, each element in Genshin Impact has its own zone and archon. The homeland of the Pyro element is Natlan and the name of the archon is Murata.
Pyro Resonance
Elemental Resonance activates in Genshin Impact when you have at least two characters with the same active element. Depending on the element it activates the relevant resonance and specific bonuses. The Pyro Resonance is the following:
Fervent Flames: Affected by Cryo for 40% less time. Increases ATK by 25%.
This makes Pyro Resonance useful for aggressive teams with scaling from ATK.
Pyro Reactions
Each element in Genshin Impact has specific elements reactions that determine its gameplay options. Different carriers of the corresponding element use it differently, which also affects the style of play, but the reactions themselves have certain invariable effects regardless of the game character.
Pyro has Elemental Reactions with all other elements. The effects are the following:
Overloaded: Causes an explosion that deals AoE Pyro DMG.
Vaporize: Deals ×1.5 Pyro DMG when a Pyro attack triggers the reaction.
Melt: Deals ×2 Pyro DMG when a Pyro attack triggers the reaction.
Burning: Deals Pyro DMG over time in a small AoE and applies Pyro to nearby targets.
Swirl: Deals AoE Pyro DMG while spreading the Pyro status to nearby enemies.
Crystallize: Creates a Pyro shard. Picking it up creates a Pyro shield around the character.
Burgeon: Detonates a Dendro Core produced by the Bloom reaction immediately, dealing increased AoE Dendro DMG.
Pyro Status
Being affected by Pyro has no inherent effects on its own. However, being affected by Pyro will allow Pyro Elemental Reactions to occur.
Any source of Pyro DMG will apply the Pyro status. Flaming Flowers and Pyro Boom Blossoms do not inherently apply Pyro, but are often surrounded by grass and will inflict Burning damage. Any lit torch, campfire, or cooking pot will cause Burning damage if the active character comes too close to them.
Pyro Status to Self
There are three characters that can apply Pyro to self: Thoma, Bennett, and Xinyan.

Since early childhood, I was fond of gaming. I played Doom 2, Red Alert 2 and, of course, The Sims. I grew up but my passion didn’t go away. So now I am writing about the stuff I love the most: video games!
