There are seven elements in Genshin Impact that form gameplay. The game is based on elemental reactions and different combinations that support your fighting performance. Electro is one of the first active elements added to the game. This post will tell you how the Electro element works in Genshin Impact.
What element is Electro?
Electro is an aggressive element that deals damage or participates in reactions that deal massive damage. Electro triggers reactions with all other six elements. Below you can see the Electro resonance effects and all Electro reactions.
It is also worth knowing about the distinguishing symbols of the Electro element. This is the icon and the colour. We will use them in this and future posts to denote the Electro element.
Also, each element in Genshin Impact has its own zone and archon. The homeland of the Electro element is Inazuma and the name of the archon is Ei, we know her as Raiden Shogun.
Electro Resonance
Elemental Resonance activates in Genshin Impact when you have at least two characters with the same active element. Depending on the element it activates the relevant resonance and specific bonuses. The Electro Resonance is the following:
High Voltage: Affected by Hydro for 40% less time. Superconduct, Overloaded, and Electro-Charged have a 100% chance to generate an Electro Elemental Particle (CD: 5s).
This makes Electro Resonance useful for teams that include Electro, Pyro and Cryo teams.
Electro Reactions
Each element in Genshin Impact has specific elements reactions that determine its gameplay options. Different carriers of the corresponding element use it differently, which also affects the style of play, but the reactions themselves have certain invariable effects regardless of the game character.
Electro has Elemental Reactions with all other elements. They are the following:
Overloaded: Causes an explosion that deals AoE Pyro DMG
Electro-Charged: Deals Electro DMG and high Poise Damage over time to all nearby targets with the Wet status.
Superconduct: Deals AoE Cryo DMG and reduces the Physical RES of enemies caught in the AoE by 40%.
Swirl: Deals AoE Electro DMG while spreading the Electro status to nearby enemies.
Crystallize: Creates an Electro shard. Picking it up creates an Electro shield around the character.
Quicken: Applies a Quicken aura.
Aggravate: Triggered when applying Electro to an entity with the Quicken aura. Adds Flat DMG Bonus to the attack that triggers this reaction.
Spread: Triggered when applying Dendro to an entity with the Quicken aura. Adds Flat DMG Bonus to the attack that triggers this reaction.
Hyperbloom: Transforms a Dendro Core produced by the Bloom reaction into a homing Sprawling Shot that deals increased AoE Dendro DMG in a small radius.
Electro Status
Electro on its own does not have any special effect, but it will allow Electro Elemental Reactions to occur. Certain mechanics in Inazuma, such as the Lightning Strike Probe, will respond to characters or monsters affected by Electro.
Any source of Electro DMG, including Electro Crystals, will apply the Electro status. Getting struck by lightning or entering a body of water struck by lightning during a thunderstorm will also apply Electro.
Electro Status to Self
There are three characters who can apply Electro status on themselves: Razor, Beidou, and Dori.

Since early childhood, I was fond of gaming. I played Doom 2, Red Alert 2 and, of course, The Sims. I grew up but my passion didn’t go away. So now I am writing about the stuff I love the most: video games!
